Love and gratitude became the “cat”-alysts for a miracle in my pet family. It all started with the arrival of a young, feral, female cat who, after weeks of circumspection, came in off the street to live with my daughter, son-in-law, and me.

Several years ago I lost my sweet-tempered beagle, Hanna, to old age. My heart felt a bit empty without her love. Each morning I’d wake up and sing HU, which is a love song to God. I’d ask my inner guide for help with my grief.

I love animals, and many years ago I was open to a new kind of love relationship in my life. Personal issues were overwhelming me. I wanted spiritual growth, but it appeared that all I was getting was physical drama and emotional pain.

Some of us are cat people, and others are dog people. I think I’m more of a cat person, although I also like dogs. In fact, we have a little dog at home. Molly is a sweet, forgiving little animal whose main reason for being on earth is to love somebody—even a cat lover.
