In a few days I’d be leaving the beautiful mountains and rivers of the Western Slope of Colorado to move to my new home in Arizona. So I stopped at an outdoor concert. I knew that several of my friends would be there and I could say good-bye to them before I left. After parking, I cracked the car windows a little and told my kitten, B. J. Honeycatt, that I would be back shortly.
When I returned to the car a few minutes later, I found that B. J. was gone. I couldn’t believe he had squeezed out of the small opening in the window. I searched all over the park, the parking lot, and surrounding areas, calling to him, but to no avail.
The next day, I made a list of all the things I could do to try to find B. J. before I left. First, I turned the entire situation over to Divine Spirit, God’s love in action, and said, “Not my will, but Thy will be done.” I have learned from experience that putting things in God’s hands always ensures the best outcome for all parties involved.
The next morning, I searched the area again and placed an ad in the local paper. Finally, I got a nudge to call the local police department and ask if anybody had reported finding a lost kitten.
The officer I spoke to said, “It’s the strangest thing; we never pick up stray or lost cats. I don’t know what made me pick up this little fellow and bring him to the police station.”
When I went to pick up B. J., I was glowing with love and gratitude for the help of Divine Spirit and the officer who listened to his inner nudge the night before. Now I could leave for my new home with a heart filled with joy and the assurance of God’s love for every Soul.
Love – the eternal bond
My daughters wanted a cat, so we went to the animal shelter to adopt one. Once at the shelter a while, as we waited for the cat to select us ( one of my daughters idea) a beautiful black and while cat came up to us. She was perfect. Thick, clean and healthy fur, great disposition and lovable. I inquired about adopting her. I was told she was a package deal. She had been tied to another cat and placed in a dumpster to die. They had to be sold together. We agreed, two cats can play together and keep each other company. So off we went home with “ Putty and Bob”. Bob was a grumpy looking gray tabby, with a black tip on his stripped tail. I decided I would give him more love as he appeared to be lacking in that department. Once home, Putty was wonderful, Bob on the other hand, ate each and every electrical cord in the house and every flower in a vase! Years went by and Putty ran away. We were unable to find her. We were left with Bob who we poured all of our love and attention on. Then one day, Bob got sick, we rushed him to the vet. The vet said he had internal injuries and was barely hanging on to life. The vet suggested we put Bob out of his misery. As we waited at the vets office we stayed by Bob giving him love and kisses until the very end. We cried all the way home. Years passed by and I refused to get another cat. Then, one day, a police officer friend of mine came by with a basket full of kittens. She brought her daughter too to help convince me to take a kitten. After my daughters and her daughter finished the basket presentation, we ended up with two kittens. One part Siamese and the other beautiful black and white mix. It wasn’t long before the black and white cat ran away. We were left with the Siamese gray tabby mix, who ate computer wires and flowers for fun. So one lazy weekend afternoon as I lay napping , I was suddenly awakened by a swat across my face. I woke up to see this gray tabby tail with a black tip in my face. I had never noticed before that the Siamese mix had a gray tabby paws and a gray tabby tail just like Bob cat. I sat up in bed and screamed to my daughter indiaa to come quickly. I yelled, “Bob is back!!!!” She came running to see what all the commotion was about. After telling her what happened she agreed it was indeed Bob cat back and up to his old tricks!!!! Once we recognized Bob’s return in Eva, she ate no more computer cords and no more flowers. I was so happy to have been swatted in the face with that gray tabby tail with the black tip, again. I was delighted that my kitty returned! The best reunion ever. This was my proof that soul is eternal and that love is the conductor of that eternal bond.

Wonderful story . Thanks for sharing.
What a sweet story! Thank you for sharing it, Rosemary. I also lived on Colorado’s Western Slope for 20 years and found that many of the people I met were kind, generous and helpful. And many are cat lovers! Wherever your journey takes you, may you find many more stories and adventures!
That is a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing! I’ve had many situations with cats and dogs that go beyond coincidence. Years ago, I learned a lesson from a feral mom cat. Then, we ended up adopting some of her kittens and had to “trap” her to get her spayed. We continued to feed her, but she never wanted to come inside. Fast forward 15 years, and my best furry four footed feline friend gave me a wondrous gift.
I knew we were connected in a way I had never experienced before, but she took my face with her left paw and looked me straight in the eyes with an intensity that was impossible to ignore. Then, she showed me past lives in which we had known each other. She was wanting me to remember! I saw her images, and what happened next, I still cannot adequately convey with words.
While I was still looking into her eyes, I saw what looked like old rusty chain mail around the lower part of my heart, disintegrating. It just fell off a part of my heart that I didn’t know was blocked, and I felt freer! When I was ill, she was my nurse. She’d lay on me and purr. Feeling and hearing her purring slowed my heart rate and I would feel calm. I am so grateful and blessed! I am glad you got your kitten back.
Quelle merveilleuse histoire. Baraka Bashad.
